New restaurants

These days, I went to some restaurants near NCCU that I haven’t tried before. And I was satisfied. Though almost everybody says that NCCU is a good food desert; however, I think there are still some nice and not-very-expensive places to eat at here.

For example, 滇味廚房, where I first went to last Wednesday surprise me very much. 滇味廚房 is a Yunnan-style restaurant which mainly provides rice-made noodle: 米線 and 粑吧絲 in different flavor. I enjoyed their pork 粑粑絲 (NT 65) a lot. Instead of being as soft as rice, 粑粑絲 has a springy texture. The soup is also special. The red appearance make it seems to be spicy, but actually it is made with tomatoes, so it sours in a perfect way and has nothing to do with spicy.

And, 私房麵 is another restaurant that people usually line up in front of it. I tried their soup noodle. With just hot soup, noodle, and some vegetable in the bowl, it was simple and delicious. What’s more, it is only NT 35!!

I am really into enjoying food. When it comes to eating issues, I’ll always be all ears. These two restaurants are in the top-rank restaurants in my heart.
So, what’s your favorite restaurant near NCCU?

  1. Dear Lynn Chung,
I only had lunch in滇味廚房 once, but I didn’t like it very much. Some of my friends told me the style of that restaurant is quite different and special, so I took a chance to go there with my classmate. However, we were both disappointed by it. I don’t know whether we didn’t choose the right meals, but I never eat there from then on. I don’t have courage to try foreign food that I have not good first impression. As for私房麵, I have never been there since I entered NCCU. I will find an appropriate time to try the food, and I will remember to search for the most delicious dishes in advance before I take the action.
Have you ever been to 四五大街? (I think the answer is yes because it is very popular restaurant around the campus.) You must try Meat Dumplings and Noodles in Spicy Sauce! I first eat it with my friends accidentally, and I crazily love it after that time. The meat dumplings there are big and tasty, totally different from others’. Though I can’t stand too spicy food, I can’t help but eat it with a lot of drinks. Many of my friends have already been persuaded by me and love it deeply just like me, and I hope you can be the next one. 

  2. Truly speaking, I prefer the food outside the back gate more, for having more choices, and more variety. Among those marvelous stores TEISHOKU 8 is highly recommended. Free rice, free miso soup, free cabbage(sliced in shreds), free drinks, plus its decent service, refined decoration, upper-class like atmosphere, welcoming you(or with your family and your boyfriend and your lover lol) on and go!!

  3. Speaking about food, thats my favorite!!!!I love foods and your introduction of the restaurant truly lure me to let me have an impulsion to rush to the restaurant and give a try. Well, but I seldom get to that restaurant, I felt like eating goose meat with rice and banboo soup would be my cup of tea. The restaurant always appeals lots of customers to get into it and buy one set. I just want to sat it is the only thing that i will eat everyday though it was 70 dollars each set which is kind of expensive.

  4. All my friends have a common sense that you should not believe Eli’s tongue. It’s out of working. The most popular story about my tongue is that I had a dinner with my colleagues, we ordered many foods, and one of the foods is rancid, all of my colleagues tasted and came to understand that, and warning me that do not eat it, however, I still tried it. At the night, I spent all the time in the commode and regretted, and enjoyed my ass preached me. So I am pretty envy you guys have a good tongue.
P.S. I do not like 四五大街, the “Fried Rice” does not have many burden, just rice and egg. :Q

  5. 耙耙絲 was the dish I ordered the first and the only time I went to 滇味廚房. It was really unique and matched my taste buds! I agree with you that there are still some "oases" near NCCU!
What I like most is 波波恰恰, which sells south-east cuisines. Its Hainan Chicken Rice(海南雞飯) is really an inexpensive delicacy. The rice is special because it's drenched with chicken oil. Besides, there are three ways they cook the chicken and I always choose grilled one. Every time after accounting test, my friends and I will eat there to relieve our stress.

  6. Although students in NCCU say that NCCU is a good food desert, but I don’t completely agree with it. Maybe the reason is that I have not lived here for a long time. Haha….
Both restaurants you talked about are alien to me. However, there are other restaurant I would like to share with you. The first one is 提洛斯, which offer free black tee and soup and has a variety Italian food. The food and atmosphere there I think is great. In addition, its price is about one hundred to two hundred, which is appropriate. Another one is called B&O. It is located near 四五大街(at the end of that street). There are full of delicious American food and drink. What’s more, there are some board games that we can play with friends and kill our time. Well….there are still some good places I can share with you, such as 米塔, 波波恰恰, 季旭, and so on. If you are interested, I can share with you next time.
